Free summer sports for local kids

Children in Lambley and Woodborough are being offered free sports activity sessions during the summer holidays, courtesy of Gedling Borough Council.

The Community Development Team at the council says it will provide designated sports coaches, all CRB checked of course, for this project. The venue is likely to be the fields behind Woodborough Village Hall on Lingwood Lane.

The age groups for the activities will be 5-7 years, 8-11 years, and possibly also 11-14 years. All age group activities will take place at the same venue at the same time. Children would not have to attend every week, but in order to plan the best activities and judge how many coaches are needed, Gedling has set up an online questionaire – just four tick-box questions and a couple of chances to make comments.

The questionaire is here, and should be completed by noon on Friday 16 July 2010. Further information from Charlotte Birkett, Extended Services Coordinator, Colonel Frank Seely School. Tel 965 2495 ext 140, or email charlotte.birkett@cfs.notts.sch.uk
