Spring Show is free for kids

Narcissi are a spring favourite and will feature prominently in Woodborough Horticultural Society's Spring Show

WOODBOROUGH HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY will hold its annual Spring Show on Saturday 9 April, in Woodborough Village Hall, Lingwood Lane.

Classes include Narcissi, Primulas, Other Flowering Plants and Floral Art. The society is particularly keen to encourage children to enter their special classes, too. Adults pay 25p to enter any class – but for children up to age 14, there is no exhibitor’s fee. As with all classes, you do not have to be member to be able to exhibit (it is an ‘open show’).

Admission to the show, which opens to the public at 2pm, is £1 for adults and free for children under 14.

This year’s show will include a number of stalls with plants and good quality but inexpensive gardening books for sale. As usual, tea, coffee, and homemade cakes will be on sale.

The show schedule will be available in Woodborough village in good time for the event, and an electronic version can be emailed if you make your request after 20 March 2011.

Timetable for the day:

  • Staging of exhibits from 7:30 to 9:45a.m.
  • Show opens 2:00 p.m.
  • Prize giving 4:00 p.m.
  • Show closes with a raffle
