Adam the Gardener was judged best scarecrow in Lowdham 2011
THE WINNER of Lowdham’s first scarecrow competition, held over the May Day bank holiday weekend, is Adam the Gardener, displayed at No 6 Ton Lane. Second place went to a scarecrow made by 1st Trentside Beavers Cubs and Scouts, called See no Evil Speak no Evil, and displayed at 7 Main Street, and third place to Bride and Groom at 4 Blackthorn Drive.
A total of 16 scarecrows were made and displayed on Sunday 1 and Monday 2 May 2011. Organiser Nicola Macdonald expresses her thanks to everyone who took part, saying “It was a great effort, and a lovely contribution to another village event.”
