In its 11th anniversary year, the Lowdham Book Festival goes from strength to strength. This year’s festival (15 June – 1 July 2010) may be a little smaller than last year’s literary jamboree but still packs in dozens of events with something for everybody with an interest in books and literature.
Among the big names this year are Simon Hughes, the professional cricketer turned author and journalist, the actor Robert Lindsay, and David Silltoe, son of late Nottingham writer Alan Sillitoe who was a great supporter of the Festival.
The programme includes workshops for aspiring writers, readins and performances for younger readers, and plenty of opportunity for social interaction. Full details on the Lowdham Book Festival website, or from The Bookcase in Lowdham.
