SATURDAY 23 June saw our area’s first ferret racing event, held at Cottage Farm in Lambley.
About 100 people turned up for the event, a fundraiser for Lambley Primary School PTA, to watch a dozen races, place wagers, and enjoy a pie and peas supper.
Proceedings began at around 7.30pm, with races lasting until about 10pm when live music from local band the Beaten Tracks entertained the crown until after midnight.
With sponsorship of each race, betting on each ferret, a cash bar, and a raffle, the event will have raised a considerable sum for the school PTA.
The short video below gives a flavour of the evening.
Hi Russ, great video, we actually had over a 140 people on the night which is brilliant and raised £1,300 for the school which is awsome!….the school is in need of lap tops, playground equipment and the football team need some new balls so thanks to everyone who came, the money will really make adifference.
Cheers
