Anti-crematorium activists have informed us that the application for a crematorium on Catfoot Lane has now been re-submitted to Gedling Borough Council.
The opposition group tells us: “Many of you will know that this application was originally passed by Gedling Borough Council planners almost two years ago, and that the decision has since been successfully challenged and overturned (firstly at a judicial review, and latterly at the Court of Appeal).
“Many of you have submitted further objection letters in recent weeks to object to the renewed application (thank you).
“The application will go to Gedling Borough Council’s planning committee at a meeting to be held at the Civic Centre at Arnot Hill Park in the next few weeks (possibly in April albeit this is to be confirmed).
“Once the date of the committee meeting is known, we will carry out a letter drop notification posters around the village.
“We will also keep the dumbles.co.uk website updated.
“PLEASE try to attend the meeting, once the date is known, as otherwise the planning committee members may think we have given up the fight, and once again we will be facing the prospect of a crematorium in our lovely village”
UPDATE 21 APRIL 2015: This latest application is not on the agenda for the Gedling Borough Council meeting tomorrow 22 April, meaning that May is the earliest that it may be considered. Stay tuned for further updates – Ed.
