Woodborough Bridge Club reports a packed village hall for its first charity afternoon tea and bridge drive, held on 21 October 2015.
At the start of the afternoon Mrs Jenny Farr, president of the Nottingham Branch of the NSPCC, gave a short talk about the work of the society in this its 125th anniversary year.
£542 was raised which will be split between the NSPCC in Nottingham and Woodborough Bridge Club.
The winning pairs were Dave Thompson and John Edwards, and June Evans and Eileen Embridge.
The club acknowledges the generous donations of raffle prizes from the following local businesses: Co-operative Society, Cross Keys Public House in Epperstone, Old Green Dragon Public House in Oxton, and Timmerman’s Garden Centre.
Woodborough Bridge Club welcomes new members and visitors: come along any Thursday evening, 7pm for 7.15 at Woodborough Village Hall.
