Work starts on housing development

147 new homes to be built over the next couple of years

PRELIMINARY site clearance began today on Taylor Wimpey Homes‘s large housing development at Spring Lane, called Lime Tree Gardens. The development, on part of the site of the old Gedling Colliery spoil heap, is expected to be under construction until late 2013.

The housing developer is building a total of 147 homes on the site, ranging from two-bed starter homes to five-bed family dwellings. A representative of Taylor Wimpey told dumbles.co.uk that construction of the houses is scheduled to begin at the end of June this year, with the first structural completions around October. Today’s initial work is the beginning of site clearance.

The company has not yet set prices for any of the homes, which it describes as being in Mapperley although they fall within the administrative parish of Lambley.

At present we have no information about scheduled road closures for this development, but have asked Taylor Wimpey to keep us informed so that we can pass the information along to our readers.
