THIS YEAR’S Oxton Fete, in aid of St Peter and St Pauls Church, promises to be bigger and better than ever before with a wide range of entertainment, stalls and attractions. Visitors will be able to buy homemade cakes, jewellery, plants, books, soaps, and bath products. Those seeking more active participation can try their hand at archery, welly wanging, penalty shoot-out, or pot painting.
Children are also well catered for, with an assortment of activities ranging from face painting and guess the name of the teddy to hook-a-duck.
A raffle will run alongside the tombola, with a number of great prizes including a luxury hamper, cash prizes, goodies from Lush, and a voucher from Goff’s Butchers in Southwell.
When refreshment is needed, visitors can indulge themselves with the chocolate fountain or the more traditional pleasures of a cup of tea or coffee to wash down the delicious homemade cake. All proceeds go to church funds. Oxton Church Fete is held at Oxton Village Hall runs from 2pm to 4.30pm on Saturday 2 July 2011, and entry is £1 for adults, 50p for children.
