Local woman Jessica Streeter is setting out to raise money for Battersea Dogs and Cats Home by making an arduous trek around Mont Blanc.
The 65km trek (about 40 miles) takes her through three countries – Switzerland, France, and Italy.
Jessica, who works at Calverton Minster Veterinary Centre, has a lifelong love of animals and tells us she is motivated to support the work done by guide dogs. “The training they go through and the help they give to people to allow them to have freedom in their lives despite not being able to see is amazing”.
She hopes to raise at least £1950 through this trek, to add to the £2400 she raised in 2014 with a 100km trek across the Sahara Desert.
Jessica’s trek starts on 6 September 2017, and she is already part way towards her fundraising target. Donations can be made via Justgiving at https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/JessAlpsTrek-GuideDogs
