Visiting Lowdham Village Hall on 20 March 2011, the Opera Dudes as the Codfathers of Croon

THE OPERA DUDES describe themselves as “two modern day Mario Lanzas” who perform a unique combination of vocal arrangements with humour and charm. The two bring their performance The Codfathers of Croon to Lowdham Village Hall on Sunday 20 March, under the auspices of Nottinghamshire Village Ventures.

This event promises to be opera’s answer to the Spice Girls, with romantic music, sharp suits, and corny jokes. The repertoire takes us from Verdi to Rachmaninov to Bernstein, with diversions along to way to encompass Swing, Grand Opera, Neopolitan songs, and West End classics – plus some silly sketches and impersonations and a potentially-dangerous amount of audience participation.
