Medical centre has new locums

LOWDHAM Medical Centre has announced the appointment of two new locum doctors, Dr Mannion and Dr Kupfe, who will cover Dr Hatton’s clinics for the next few months. Dr Hatton is on maternity leave, having a new daughter born on 9 September, and will return to the practice in 2012.

Flu jabs: The practice also points out that the flu vaccination season is nearly upon us, with jabs starting in October. Please contact the surgery to make an appointment if you feel you should have one. Jabs are not only for the elderly, but also the over 65s, those with asthma or lung disease, diabetes, heart liver or kidney conditions, have had a stroke, have had an illness or impaired immunity, or are an unpaid carer.

Patient participation: The next meeting of the Patient Participation Group will be held on Thursday 20 October 2011, at 11.00am at the Leys Community Centre. All patients of the practice are welcome. Questions regarding the groups may be directed to the practice manager, Rachel Rowland.

Finally, there are two new faces on reception at the medical centre: Michele Walford and Siobhan Carter. Michele will be working Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday mornings, and Siobhan will be working all day Monday and Tuesday.
