Coffee morning to boost Guides

A COFFEE morning is to be held in Woodborough on Saturday 16 April 2011, as part of a fundraising effort for 1st Woodborough Guides. Visitors will be invited to enjoy tea or coffee and an indulgent range of handmade cakes, and will have the opportunity to buy handmade cards and Easter crafts.

The coffee morning is part of the fundraising activities for Woodborough Guides – which has its own web page here on dumbles.co.uk – to send two of their members on an International Guide Camp this summer. Participation in International Camp is a rare privilege, and only eight girls have made it through the rigorous selection procedure in Nottingham for this year’s adventure. It is a testament to Woodborough Guides that two of its members are among them.

The girls will travel in separate groups across Europe – one group going by train from Amsterdam to Salzburg and Venice, the other going from Venice to Verona and Rome – before congregating at the week-long International Guide Camp in Charnwood, Leicestershire.

The coffee morning will be held at The Institute, Roe Lane, Woodborough, from 9am to 12 noon on Saturday 16 April 2011.
