Winners at Woodborough spring show 2011

WOODBOROUGH Horticultural Society held its spring show on Saturday 9 April 2011, and reports a good range of entries which made for a ‘successful and gloriously colourful’ event (more information on the society can be found here)

The winners of the various classes have now been announced:

Section 1 – Narcissi

AE Foster Memorial Cup for most points in section1: Lyndon Clements 
             
Four Bells Cup (winner of Class 1.34 – collection of six cultivars): Roger Huxley
 
Daffodil Society Medal (best bloom in section 1 Narcissi): Jill Hicking 
 
Daffodil Society Diploma (best collection in section 1 Narcissi): Roger Huxley

John Allison Trophy (best novice exhibit by a member): Ann Elson 

Section 2 – Primulas

Textile Finishing Cup (most points in section 2 Primulas): Ann Elson

Section 3 – Other Flowering Plants

Intermotor Cup (most points in section 3 Other flowering plants): Inga Filmer

Section 4 – Children’s 

Up to 10 years of age: Emily Daniels (age 6)

10 -14 years of age  – a tie – Ellie Stredder (age 10) and Reece Stredder (age 13)

Section 5 – Floral Art

Tallon Construction Cup (most points in section 5 Floral Art): Margaret Telling 

D R Nind Trophy (most points in show): Roger Huxley

Special classes

Hyacinth ‘Blue jacket’ – best exhibit grown by Jean Parrott

Daffodil ‘Suzy’ – best exhibit grown by Jean Parrott

Winner of best bloom in the Narcissi section was this exquisite 'Triple Crown' flower from Jill Hicking
