Play groups are now parent-led

LOWDHAM and Epperstone playgroups have formed a new parent-led organisation, Lowdham and Epperstone Happy Tots, which organises meetings once a week in each village.

Sessions are held during term time every Monday at Epperstone Village Hall, and every Friday at the Women’s Institute Hall, Lowdham. In both cases the meetings start at 9.45am and finish at 11.15am. The new groups launched on 12 September 2011.

The organisers, a group of mothers from the previous village pre-school groups, say they will continue to provide a wide range of fun and educational toys and resources for free play, with a new added emphasis on interactive craft and music activities. Healthy snacks and drinks will be provided for the children, and a hot drink for parents.

The groups have a new website, and can followed on Twitter (@happytots) – to keep parents up to date about session times, dates, and any upcoming themes or special events. The organisers also want to encourage parents of babies and toddlers in surrounding villages to come along and get involved. Contact details given on the website include an email address – contact@happytots.info – and a phone number 0115 966 5495

Do these tots look happy to you? Yeah, us too.
