Projection House focuses on theme nights

OXTON Projection House is now in its third year of operation. A number of different arrangements have been tried in that period, including nights in the Green Dragon pub, with some formats proving more successful than others.

From this experience the organisers have decided, for the time being at least, to focus on delivering about six great events a year.

These will most likely all be held in Oxton Village Hall, and feature a film/films linked to a theme, such as the very successful Scottish and Irish nights. These add an extra dimension to the film by way of food and or other entertainment.

The recent Scottish evening on 2 February 2013 was a sell-out success, with over 55 people attending to watch Brave, enjoy a Scottish quiz, and dine on haggis neaps and tatties.

The next such event will be an Irish evening on Friday 22 March 2013, featuring Irish film In Bruges, live band Wholesome Fish, and food.

Further diary dates are:

  • Saturday 13 April 2013 – showing The Hobbit
  • Saturday 29 June 2013 – village ball
  • Saturday 28 September 2013 – back to school event.
