Three ways to get fit in Lambley

ANYBODY wanting to improve their fitness and suppleness has the choice of three new activities in Lambley. Nathalie Heathcote offers Zumba and Yoga classes in the village hall on Thursday evenings, and with Martin Small runs a fitness session on the school field each Saturday morning.

Zumba classes are held on Thursdays at Lambley Village Hall from 6.00-6.50pm. Nathalie says Zumba is an “exhilarating, effective, easy-to-follow, Latin-inspired, calorie-burning dance fitness-party that will leave you feeling fit, energised and addicted”. Zumba classes feature exotic rhythms set to high-energy Latin and international beats.

Slightly less energetic is the Sun Power Yoga, held just after the Zumba session from 7-8pm each Thursday, also at Lambley Village Hall. This an established yoga class has been running for over a year and is suitable for all abilities, says Nathalie. Practicing yoga has many health benefits, exercising every part of the body, stretching and toning the muscles and joints, and also apparently stimulating the function of organs, glands, and nerves. Sessions cost £5.

The most recent development is Fitness on the Field, a Saturday morning session on Lambley Primary School playing field from 8.45-9.45am, which promises participants they will burn 20 percent more calories than they would through indoor training. Classes includes a mix of circuit training and cross training, with a few surprises thrown in. Sessions cost £4.
