Robin Hood ‘will remain a village pub’

THE NEW landlord and landlady of the Robin Hood in Lambley have scotched rumours that the establishment is to become a bistro, telling dumbles.co.uk that it will remain a village pub.

RobinHood1Vicky Pemberton, who with husband Geoff is taking over the tenancy of the pub, said: “Our intentions are that it will remain a community pub, with food available as there has been in the past.”

The pub is due to re-open on 11 April 2013, and the Pembertons are keen to re-establish it as a part of the community. One initiative is to support charities, and Vicky has asked for our help to identify a good cause to be the beneficiary of their first fundraiser. Suggestions can be left below (‘Leave a Reply’)

The family are well established locally, with son Jake having been a pupil at Lambley Primary School and among the 2009 leavers.

As new ‘to be’ residents in Lambley (Grange Close ) we are delighted to hear that the Robin Hood will remain open and we shall look forward to meeting members of the community there.

How about supporting the local Primary School? Lambley Primary School would welcome any help to benefit the children in the local community. We are currently developing our Art Gallery area in the school and are raising funds for the refurbishment. It will make a real difference to the children and enable them to develop their creativity and take a real pride in their work.

We too are delighted to hear that the Robin Hood will remain open. Village pubs are vital as they allow the community chance to meet each other & give us a sense of belonging.Without this facility we can be very isolated. We too are new ‘soon to be’ residents of Grange Close , so we will look forward to meeting our neighbours sue & pete ! & other village residents.
