The agenda for the meeting, to be held on Wednesday 10 April 2013, does not include either of the planning applications.Gedling publishes its planning committee agendas just five days in advance of meetings. The agenda for the 10 April meeting can be seen here.

Plans for the crematoria have generated fierce opposition locally, with banners appearing across Lambley. The first proposal, for a crematorium and cemetery, was made by developer Westerleigh about a year ago in April 2012.

This was followed in July 2012 by a second proposal, from rival undertaker AW Lymn, for a crematorium alone.

Both applications are awaiting planning permission, which opponents say they should not be granted because of the protected Green Belt status of the area, the narrowness of Catfoot Lane, and other reasons.

A village meeting to discuss recent flooding issues in Lambley was postponed in order to avoid any clash with the Gedling planning meeting, which is certain to attract many villagers to demonstrate their feelings over the proposed developments.

The main focus of opposition is the Catfoot Crematorium-Cemetery Opposition Group
